This isn’t coffee, but the fruit the coffee comes from.
Before coffee beans are roasted, they grow inside a bright red fruit called the coffee cherry. For this unique tea, those ripe cherries from Pacamara coffee plants are carefully dried after the beans are removed, creating a naturally sweet fruit infusion known as coffee cherry tea, or cascara.
This lot comes from the mountains of Nicaragua through the farmers of Gold Mountain Coffee Growers. The cherries are picked fully ripe, sun-dried, and hand-sorted to preserve their natural sweetness and clean fruit character.
In the cup you’ll find flavors of apricot, strawberry, and apple, with soft hints of honey and peach. It drinks like a smooth fruit tea with a gentle sweetness and a silky body.
Coffee cherry tea contains some caffeine, but far less than brewed coffee, making it a great option for a lighter afternoon drink or a refreshing iced beverage.
Brewing:
16g of tea to 300g of water. Steep for 5 minutes, no stirring necessary.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the featured animal shelter of the quarter. Check out which shelter we are donating to HERE.
